Total Effects Day Spa invites people to indulge
in wellness
Linda Aitken, of Total Effects Day Spa, wants
to invite people to indulge in their personal wellness. The business,
originally started in 2003, is launching the dramatic new relocation
and expansion of its facility.
Linda, with more than 30 years of salon
and spa experience, always knew there was more to wellness than
great hair shaping and color.
Her first endeavor, Hair's the Place, was a
successful home based business. When an opportunity to teach Cosmetology
at the Weyburn Comprehensive High School came along in 2000.
Linda wasn't long out of the industry, however,
before she again saw opportunity in starting another business.
This time, Total Effects Day Spa was storefront in the heart of
downtown Weyburn. Coupling hair and esthetic services allowed
Linda the freedom to offer more to her clients.
The more she learned about the spa industry,
the more Linda recognized the need to expand. After much research,
many plans and careful deliberation, the decision was made to
relocate and expand across the street from the existing location.
"It has been a monumental task to get the
new spa space together. 4500 square feet really is a large space!"
enthuses Linda. Because of her vision, dedication and determination,
Total Effects Day Spa "will create a positive experience
in a comfortable, caring atmosphere. It's really all about the
spa guest's wellness," Linda continues.
Housed in this full-service, modern spa are
some incredible products and services:

The image and services provided by Total Effects
Day Spa will change when the move takes place. "The image
will definitely be one of a more clinical setting. The accessibility
for all guests is key; all services are on the ground floor level.
As well, the unisex décor will allow all spa guests to
feel comfortable and welcome."
The overall vision for the spa will ensure clients
receive premium service. "Guests of the spa will be our 'gold'!"
One way Linda will create consistency of service is by having
linens, towels, blankets and uniforms supplied by the spa, not
by the service providers located within the Spa. With all of the
amazing benefits offered, it will be like no other spa in southeast
SK!
All of this planning has been hard work. "The
learning curve has been pretty steep, but with assistance from
Community Futures Sunrise, I definitely feel I am in a better
position to take on this exciting challenge. Sunrise has a dynamic
staff that assists business; the training and advising sessions,
and the loans programs have been invaluable!" comments Linda.
Linda's open house was held Nov 29/2008 and was a great success
with over 100 guests attending.
