Conference...
This year's Saskatchewan Community Futures Conference
in late October took on a decidedly British flavour as 007 James
Bond, was celebrated with tongue firmly in cheek. With gusto,
the Community Futures offices embraced the theme and turned up
in costume at the Annual Gala.
On a more business oriented note, the CF's turned
their attention on staff professional development to the future
economic look of the province - challenges and opportunities and
on the Board Training side to Financial Management of a CF with
4 different modules being offered. Professional Development continued
with Business Counseling techniques to further strengthen service
delivery.
The Minister's Award for Excellence in Innovation
went to CF Visions North in La Ronge for their unique approach
to training and business development in northern Saskatchewan
involving women re-entering the workforce and considering self
employment after suffering personal setbacks in their past.
The Volunteer of the Year was Larry Lang
from CF East Central.
15 Year Service Awards went to: Charlotte
Sinclair, CF Beaver River, and from CF Meridian Region, both Vickie
Newmeyer and Jeanette Martin.
10 Year Service Awards were presented to:
Corinne Lubiniecki, CF Ventures, Aaron Spence, CF Midsask/REDA
and Wayne Cameron, CF Prince Albert and District. Wayne was not
able to attend the ceremony.
5 Year Service Awards went to: Tanya
Plante, CF East Central, Susan Elder, CF South Central and Denise
Guillet, CF Midsask/REDA and Linda Hoffart, CF Meridian Region.
